The chips look like normal chips but they are a slightly darker color than your normal yellow corn tortilla chips. They also seem more crunchy, or brittle than regular ones. It could be the pumpkin puree doing that. But of course this is pumpkin spice season, so Trader Joe's has decided to put there twist on them and put cinnamon and nutmeg.

I thought these would be a lot like the recently introduced Sweet Potato Tortilla Chips--except, y'know, with pumpkin in place of sweet potato. Nope. Not even close. The difference is made primarily by the addition of cinnamon and nutmeg, which change the overall flavor profile much more than would the simple substitution of pumpkin for sweet potato--and not in a good way.
